I have a long history with Bob. Bob was my landlord when I owned and ran The Reptile Store in Hamilton, ON, between 1999 and 2002. And then years later, they moved to Vancouver. When I completed my first bike ride in 2011 in Vancouver, they were the only people I knew. For the 8 months I was in Vancouver, I remember being with them most Sunday nights for dinner.
I actually stayed with the Dynes for the last 7 days, as I had a few complications securing some kind of accident insurance upon entering the US. This leg of the adventure would have been really challenging without their help. As with all my hosts, I am in a huge debt of gratitude to everyone. Bob and Diane had the honor of being my final and 55th host, crossing our huge country of Canada. I was so happy it was them.
Thanks to all my Canadian hosts and everyone else who had a part in a pretty amazing Canadian story. Here I come, USA!!
