So east of Swift Current my bike trailer wheel started to make a squealing noise and I knew instantly what the problem was. A quick inspection of the wheel validated my suspicions. The one dust over had disintegrated and the hub and bearing were exposed again (just like in Nova Scotia during the winter)..
Pedalling into Swift Current I found Grant at Pedal Works. Grant came in early the next morning to mess with the wheel but felt uncomfortable wacking it with a hammer. So Grant ran over to the dump and and found a 16″ wheel off another bike and regressed the wheel and sent me on my way – no charge.
I appreciated all the effort Grant put in and will attempt to have the wheel looked at in Calgary.
